Anne-Sophie Sevens (Belgian Soprano, 34) studied classical singing at the LUCA School of Arts in Leuven and at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Anne-Sophie is a recipient of several scholarships: in 2019 the Richard Wagner Cercle in Vienna invited her to join the Festpiele in Bayreuth, in 2016 and 2018 by Opernwerkstatt (Switzerland), in 2016 by Nei Stëmme (Luxembourg) donated by Focunda and in 2015 she received the Special Heritage Award from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Anne-Sophie made her professional operatic debut in TOBS (Theatre Orchestra Biel Solothurn) as Sopranistin in «Masterclass» of Terrence McNally, singing the aria of Lady Macbeth «Nel dì della vittoria». In 2015-2017 she was a member of the Swiss Opera Studio Biel in which she participated, among others, in «Idomeneo» (Mozart) interpreting the role of Elettra and in «The old maid and the thief» (Menotti) the role of Laetitia with the Orchestra Biel Solothurn. Furthermore she interpreted opera scenes with the role of Micaela, Marie in «Die verkaufte Braut» (Smetana), Agathe, Contessa and Desdemona. In Opernwerkstatt she sang the role of Gerhilde in 2016 and the role of Gerhilde in 2017, as well as Marie in «Wozzeck» (Berg) and Santuzza in concerts in Sigriswil, Bern, Basel and Zürich.
Anne-Sophie performs regularly as a Recitalist. She performed in Belgium twice at the Festival des Minimes in Brussels where she interpreted «Fünf Lieder» (Alma Mahler) and «Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen» (Gustav Mahler). She sang in Brussels at the Festival Courants d’Air where she presented «Wesendonck-Lieder» (Wagner) and at the Festival Musiq’3 in Flagey, «Chanson perpétuelle» (Chausson). Beside her Belgian musical education she took regular lessons and participated in several master-classes in Germany, Switzerland and Italy notably with Siegfried Jerusalem, Edda Moser, Vesselina Kasarova, Nadine Secunde and Gerd Uecker. In 2017 she was Prize-winner in the Bellincanto Competition in Bellinzona, Switzerland and in the Ljuba Welitsch Singing Competition in Vienna, where she was invited in 2018 as a jury member. She participated in 2017 and 2019 at the final rounds of the Elizabeth Connell competition and in 2018 at the final rounds of the Belvedere competition in Jurmala. In 2019 she was finalist in the Rita Gorr competition in Ghent and in the BIVC competition in Bologna.
